About Me

Ok, so here is the general low down :).  My name is Jeanne .  I am married to the beautiful, gentle Prince Martin and a mother of 3 (mostly adorable) kiddies.  My eldest is a very kind, sometimes too serious little boy (in this blog referred to as Mr.1), my second a spunky, off the beaten track girl (referred to as Ms.M for middle) and my youngest a happy go lucky, free-living girly (referred to Ms.H). When I'm not being a wife, mother and all that entails, I also consult as a Freshwater Specialist.  We are a Afrikaans Christian family and passionate about Jesus and what our identity in Him looks like.  We love taking our family on all sorts of adventures, travelling and absolutely living life on earth to the fullest.  And doing so with as much Joy as we can possibly can!

Why the blog?  I am in no way a typical writer, with perfect writing skills (in fact, excuse any bloopers that may come along!).  The reason for this blog is twofold.  Firstly, several friends and parents of former class mates were very curious about our journey, how things were going and what we were doing - requesting me to start a blog.  And secondly, with us living in South Africa, although much better than 10/20 years ago, the homeschooling arena is still very under developed.  Most resources, blogs etc. on homeschooling is American or British based, totally out of our South African context and feel.  So hopefully this blog can be of enjoyment (if nothing more), to the fast growing South African home-school community and everyone else curious in our journey!  And if nothing more, for myself to have some sort of outlet on what this crazy adventure looks like!  If you are interested in knowing why we chose homeschooling - click here.

Please read most of my posts with a sense of humour and excuse any Afrikaans thrown into the mix - if you don't understand, use Google Translate :)  It's all about the journey, isn't it.  In this blog you will find all sorts of stories about how we found (and still do!) our way in this new adventure.  Hope you enjoy the ride with us!
